6 things to know before choosing an alarm company
- Every door and window must have a contact. Motion sensors are not an acceptable substitute! This fact can be confirmed with your local police.

- A security system should come with a lifetime warranty! Be careful on this one. Some companies offer the warranty but charge for the "trip" $30, $50, $100, each company is different but this adds up very quickly! You should pay $0 for the repair and trip. If a salesman tells you that you are not charged get it in wiriting!
- Exterior siren should always be included! No exceptions to this rule.

- Phone cut off protection should always be included.

- Your monthly monitoring rate should be "locked". If it's not a fixed rate it will go up each year. Even if a salesperson says that the company never raises their rates, get it in writing or your rate will go up. A rate of $29 today can end up at $40 in a year or two!
